Enrollment is open for Appalachian Institute residential summer enrichment camp
I usually limit my summer camp posts to those in and around metro Atlanta, but the residential camp at the Appalachian Institute for Creative Learning is too intriguing for me not to mention.
Open to kids ages 8-17 (rising 3rd-12th graders), AICL’s summer program is held on the campus of Warren Wilson College, near Asheville, N.C. Campers choose four classes from dozens of choices in math, science, technology, literature, history, visual arts, music and drama.
Children do not need to be certified as gifted to attend. Enrollment is open now.

Thanks for sharing this! This is the first camp that my 13 y.o. DS has been excited about attending. AND it is so super-affordable!!!
Hi!
My DS did attend this camp and had a GREAT time! In fact, he wants to go again next year. It is a very small camp, but they offer a *wide* variety of classes – from medical ethics to film studies to musical theatre. It isn’t really an academic camp, but as it is described, a camp for Creative Learning. I recommend this camp, especially for those kids who tend to be more creative and outside-of-the-box thinkers and for kids who may want to try new and different topics/interests.
