Intelligent camps for rising K-5 near Midtown
It’s always nice to find a camp that serves younger children.
Midtown International School’s summer camp, which began in 2014, is for rising kindergarteners through fifth graders. Each week of camp has a unique topic of study. This summer, camp sessions will cover rocketry, horticulture, volcanoes, Egyptology, to name just a few.
Campers are grouped by age so that the weekly topic can be presented at different levels. The camp is staffed by teachers from the school.
The camp will be held at the school’s new campus on Sheridan Road in northeast Atlanta.
Registration is open now.

Thanks for this–it’s so hard finding a camp for younger children. My daughter is almost 7 and the pickings are slim! Has anyone found great camps for this age group? I’m looking for various camps, but would love to find something targeted towards girls and technology. She’s a little artist so I’d like to find something where she can transform her art digitally.
To Tracee,
If you’re in the area, GA tech has lots of summer camps. And GSU (downtown) had a one-week camp as part of their Saturday School for scholars and leaders. We have personally tried Club Scientific, High Tech High Touch, and one year we tried the SIG day camp at Emory. (Expensive, though. Kids had fun. I had mixed reviews-for the price, I expected better teachers).
Thanks so much Susana! What were your thoughts about club scientific and high tech camp? Did you have a good experience? From what I remember, I think she’s a little young for most of the ga tech camps–I’ll also look into the GSU camp. I’ve also heard mixed reviews about SIG. Thanks again!
