Registration open for December Georgia Tech workshops

Registration is open for Georgia Tech’s December 5 K.I.D.S. Club and STEAM Workshops. This will be the final weekend of workshops in 2026.

December’s workshops will be open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

In K.I.D.S. Club, students in K-1 will attend two sessions: one about snow, and the other about the invention process.

Grades 2 and 3 will have three, one-hour sessions where they’ll program Dash robots, write Minecraft codes, and prorgram Micro:bits to design games and gadgets.

Students in 4th and 5th grades can split their time into two sessions of 90 minutes each, one working with Sphero RVR robotic cars, the other working with different insulating materials to try to stop an ice cube from melting; or choose a single, three-hour session where they’ll “build a one-of-a-kind maze habitat for their Ozobot!” (See the registration pages for detailed descriptions of this and all other sessions.)

STEAM Workshops are for students in grades 6 through 12. Students in grades 6-8 can choose two, 90-minute sessions, one where they’ll build a battery-powered car, and the other using structural engineering principles to build a future-ready house or building; or choose one, 3-hour session on the intersection between neuroscience and computer science.

Students in grades 9-12 will split their time into two sessions: one on using algorithms to develop automated decision making, the other on building a heart rate monitor on a smartphone using Python coding and something called “photoplethysmography.”

All workshops meet on the Georgia Tech campus from 9 a.m. to noon. Follow the links to register.
